<p>A new temporary closure will be in place tomorrow morning (Thursday 10th November) to close Wandsworth Road at its junction with Heaton Park Road. This measure follows many road safety concerns raised by local residents and people walking and cycling on Wandsworth Road as drivers divert onto Wandsworth Road around the Heaton Park View closure.</p> <p>The consultation and decision making process, to consider a permanent closure at Wandsworth Road / Heaton Park Road junction and at Mowbray Street / Heaton Park Road junction with a new crossing over Heaton Park Road, between the two closures continues.</p>

New temporary closure on Wandsworth Road 

We're trialling some changes that will reduce the amount of traffic cutting through Heaton. With less traffic cutting through, neighbourhood streets can become safer and more attractive places for the people who live there. These changes would give children more space to play, and encourages more people to walk and cycle on local journeys. 

Public consultation on these changes starts on 24th October 2022 until 23rd April 2023.
